Interesting Facts: Ann enjoyed making this film, and said Reginald Owen was a nice man to work with. She said that the for the flying sequences she had to wear a leather front harness. If you look closely you can see where the strings are attached to her by where her garment pulls up in little tents. Both she and Reginald hated flying, probably she more than he. At one point her counterweight line snapped, and Ann was yanked all the way up to the ceiling of the sound stage! Ann was suspended there until the fire department with a ladder big enough to reach her and reattach her counterweight. Ann wasn't afraid, but was fascinated with the event and everyone rushing around below her. She said that M-G-M was embarrassed of the incident and didn't publicize it.

Gene Lockhart (Bob Cratchit) had his real (Kathleen Lockhart) wife play Mrs. Cratchit, and their daughter June Lockhart made her first appearance as their daughter in this film.
